DSCOFEST to bring big dancefloor names to Korea

Brand new music event, DSCOFEST, will be held this weekend and will feature a mix of international names and some local musical talent.

Even to those plugged into the music event scene in Korea, DSCOFEST feels like it has come a bit out of nowhere. The organisers have moved quickly with promoting this event, having announced their presence about six weeks ago and sharing their lineup late last month.

But what a lineup! Disco heads will be ecstatic to hear that Horse Meat Disco will be headlining. The British-born four-piece have become dance music icons for their widely loved remixes, but they also produce their own funky fried originals.

They'll be joined by fellow UK DJs, Bondax. This duo fuses the disco spirit with forward-focused house music and elements of UK garage.

They will be joined by the creme de la creme of local disco talent such as FFAN, Conan, Jinwook, Dudu, and Platform Magazine-favourite City Boy From Seoul.

The event is billed as "EP.02 - REFLECTION" after the warm-up event that happened last month. Make no mistake, though, this is the main event.

DSCOFEST takes place this weekend in Chuncheon, Gangwon. Tickets are surprisingly-low 77,000won which, relative to most dance music fests, is very reasonable.
