Se So Neon Three Date Stint

After over two years away from the stage, iconic art-pop outfit Se So Neon will finally be returning to a live music venue. Bursting on the scene in 2017, Se So Neon quickly became one of Korea's must-see acts. The band have received international acclaim for their vibrant, guitar-driven pop and creative live performances. This Friday, they begin a three-night stint of live performances at Blue Square's Mastercard Hall.

The Spectators

This weekend, Gangnam jazz bar The Audience will be holding a two-night special event called The Spectators. The event attempts to fuse jazz with different sounds and styles to create something new and exciting. On Friday, Ryan Park's Funky Unit will be joined by genre-defying producer City Boy From Seoul. Performing on Saturday will be Sung Nockwon and The Manners. They will be joined by Baijo Bae, and together, they will be creating a jazz-ska fusion with reggae influences.

This Friday, prepare your ears for a sonic trip at Channel1969. Performing life will be the experimental jazz outfit Mandong. This enigmatic performer defies labels, drawing inspiration from the world of hip-hop, funk, and a wide range of Eastern sounds. This event will be mind-blowing.

The show takes place in Seongsu and is an effort by the promotors to spread live music and creativity outside of the hubs of Hongdae and Itaewon.

This Saturday, our new favourite venue, Cafe Idaho, will be hosting popular local indie band, 24hours. In 2013, 24hours released their debut album Party People. The album is a raw and energetic guitar album with a heavy influence from Arctic Monkeys. Curator, critic, and artist Louise the Woman has put together a ten-day art event exploring how art inhabits gallery space. Four artists will collaborate to put together each other's installations. The participating artists are Seulgi Kim, Dahye An, Jinseon Ahn, Yejun Hong, and the exhibition will be held at Boloc, in Seongsu.

ARTSPECTRUM is an exhibition focused on discovering and promoting emerging young Korean artists and introducing them at home and abroad. For the 7th instalment, eight artists will present work that asks questions about new methods of owning art, challenge prejudices, and "dealing with the past continuously called to present". The never-before-seen work covers both the artists' personal history and art institutions.
