Warm yourself up with Minji's summery, sombre EP

Minji says goodbye to summer with style on her sombre, beach-adjacent debut.
Previous to this release, Minji had gained some attention for her guest appearances on tracks by 92914. While the same tender vocal style can be found on her new EP, musically, they're pretty far apart.
Strangers is a light but emotional EP of beachy indie melancholia. It's a simple album but effectively atmospheric. This is due in large part to the ethereal and sincere vocal delivery of Minji. Her wispy harmonies float over the surf guitars giving this release an introspective feel.
It follows then that the lyrics would be suitably emotional. Despite the sun-bathed melodies, Minji sings sadly about the anxious side of love and of life's imperfections. "I'm just a girl lost in the crowd, "I'm just a girl stuck in the mirror", sings Minji on album highlight Child.
Minji has already followed the EP with a standalone single, Hawaiian Boy. Here, she continues the same "like Wipeout but wiped out" tone of her moving debut. Fans of Fazerdaze and our own Say Sue Me will love this.
