We’re back again this week with another breakdown of the best things to do happening in the next seven days. There’s a bunch of live music events happening, especially over the weekend. Art lovers too will not be disappointed.

Friday 15th October
KIAF Art Fair.
The Korea International Art Fair returns this weekend at COEX.
The significant art event has collected work from over 170 galleries from 10 different countries.
2021 saw a boom in the art market, with sales and interest going up sharply. This is particularly true of Korea who has become a rising hub in the global art scene. Because of this, KIAF will have a strong international focus this year with representation from many different countries.
The event will also have a series of talks from high profile guests talking about different issues affecting the art world. The talks will be in Korean and English.

Saturday 16th October
Bender Acoustic Night.
Our good friends over at Bender have been nailing the live music nights since their return a few months ago. This Saturday they return with an acoustic night with some pretty cool names.
The venue generally specialises in punk/pop-punk and, despite this being an acoustic event, this Friday will be no different.
GUMX and Sonic Stones singer Lee Yongwon will be bringing his unique style of energy to the Bender stage. He will be joined by pop-rock outfit Benchweleo's Lee Junhaeng.

Live music night at Club Bbang.
This Saturday, Club Bbang will be hosting a bbanger of a live music night.
The venue is well-known for hosting some of the best in local guitar music have outdone themselves with four top bands.
The lineup will feature some Platform favourites like Moskva Surfing Club, Eukk, Kontrajelly, and Outliers.

Burlesque Night.
The Studio, one of Yongsan's best live music venues, will be shifting it's focus this week with a night of Burlesque.
Curated by local performer Rosie Monroe, the night will see a series of guests perform in a variety of different styles.

5th Newbie Feast.
This weekend, live music venue nestNADA will be hosting a lineup of fresh talent with some excellent names.
The lineup features Rego, Oscill, 1DB, and Poleground. The acts will be joined by indie-pop band Hoa, whose track Wi-fi Boy is one of our most loved songs of the year!

Sunday 17th October
Cadejo and Dabda tour starts.
OK, yes, this is the second week in a row where we have Cadejo on our event list, but they're inarguably one of the best bands in the country right now. So it is only fitting that when they start a mini-tour, we will cover it.
The band will embark on a three-day stint of dates around the country, playing shows in Seoul, Daegu and Busan.
They will be joined by the fantastic psychedelic rock band Dabda for all of the shows.
They kick things off this Sunday at Sangsangmadang.

Korean Music Special with DJ Superfly.
In what's being dubbed a "story-concert", nomadic DJ Superfly will be playing a special set of music representing Korean public music history.
The all-vinyl set will feature a deep dive into some lesser-known sounds from Korea as well as some more famous tracks.
This event is exclusive with a 20-person maximum capacity.

Monday 18th October
Record Concert with Soulscape.
In the last few weeks, Kompakt Record Bar have been opening their turntables to some very cool names on the local DJ scene. This week, they have the awesome Soulscape stopping by to play.
Vinyl spinner DJ Soulscape is a well-renowned name on the local scene. His mixes are a blend of tropical rhythms, funky basslines and vintage dance music style.
This Monday, you can hear him perform at Kompakt Record Bar.

Wednesday 20th October
The Taste of Violet.
AlterSide is a very cool art gallery in Mapo-gu.
Next week they launch their latest exhibition, and it features two artists that we at Platform are very excited about.
K.Lynn Chang is a painter and sculptor who describes her work as "Bon appetite for your eyes". She is reinterpreting the way we think about the aesthetics of food with her work by conceptualising the visuals of it with her art.
Jiy Kang is a painter and illustrator who examines contemporary ideas about femininity while exploring her own identity and place in the world.
The joint exhibition starts next Wednesday.
