Pentaport announces lineup featuring international and local stars
Pentaport just announced the lineup for this year's event featuring some big names and a strong showing of local talent.
Incheon's Pentaport Rock Festival has been one of the leading music fests in Korea since its inaugural 2006 event. Over the years, they've brought some of the biggest names in music to the shores of Incheon such as Nine Inch Nails, Suede, Muse, LCD Soundsystem, and loads more. People have been eagerly waiting to see if what the organisers would offer this year. Well, the waiting is over.
Just as with last year's event, Pentaport's first announcement features a relatively small amount of international acts, with the main focus being on homegrown talent. Also, just as with many previous Pentaport events, the headliner is one of the main acts from this year's Fuji Rock Festival.
Headlining this year's event will be The Strokes. The New York band have had a bit of a revival lately thanks in part to the documentary Meet Me In The Bathroom. This will be the band's second time playing the event, having played the very first Pentaport back in 2006.
They'll be joined by British shoegaze icons Ride, who have a huge following here in Korea.
The lineup features a great collection of Korean acts from a range of genres such as Galaxy Express, The Black Skirts, Se So Neon, Leenalchi, Kimildu, No Brain, The Poles, 250, and loads more.
